Impact Parenting is practical and moving, insightful and biblically founded. I love how this book is a journey through the many lives as a parent. Rachel’s stories are nostalgic to me as I am sure will be for others who read them. I appreciate that the questions Rachel poses throughout the book challenge parents to evaluate their parenting styles and encourage them to pursue healthy paths in rearing their children. They truly are springboards for action. Parents who read this will walk away better equipped, refreshed, reminded and armed with practical ways to deepen their parenting skills. Well done sister.

Rachel’s Story

Hey there! I’m Rachel, a lover of the Lord with an education degree and a passion to encourage and empower moms and dads. My hope is to empower parents to overcome their fears and doubts, shift their mindset from right now to future focused, intentional parenting and to step into the grace and authority God gave them to become the best parents they were created to be!

As a young mom, I had no idea how hard parenting would be and I had no idea how to do it. I remember the first time I left the house after my first child was born, I was floored by the realization that she would have to go with me...EVERYWHERE I WENT! My life had changed in an instant, and the combination of intense love and incredible fear and doubt left me paralyzed.

As a teacher, though, I had it under control. I knew how to get my students’ attention, keep them in line and reach their hearts to instill a love of learning-or at least a healthy tolerance. I was like a completely different person in each world. Then one day, at a professional development, the speaker said something that changed my mindset: Your job as a teacher is to teach yourself out of a job. I immediately related that to parenting.

My job as a parent is to parent myself out of a job.

This realization changed the way I approached parenting, and it was then that I began to parent for the future. I began to look ahead to the teen years and beyond and consider the end result of my parenting. As I shifted my perspective, my parenting became more intentional. As I considered the future, the things that I considered important changed. My focus and my efforts shifted as well. And through all of that, my stress level dropped drastically!

Now, I help parents shift their focus, overcome struggles, defeat fear and doubt, learn to parent with intention, and become the best parents they were created to be! It is my passion to help moms and dads quit putting out fires and surviving the day to day and start pouring into their legacy and future generations!
